Spellbound is the alias of Lila Dearden, a relatively obscure DC Comics villainess with the power of illusion casting. Her first appearance was in Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #115 (1971).
Lila initially worked as a stage magician before discovering she possessed genuine magical abilities. Instead of using these powers for good, she turned to crime, using her illusions to manipulate and deceive her opponents, primarily targeting Superman and Lois Lane.
Spellbound's powers allow her to create incredibly realistic illusions capable of fooling even Superman's enhanced senses. These illusions can range from simple visual deceptions to complex scenarios that trap and disorient her foes. She has also exhibited some level of mind control.
Despite her impressive abilities, Spellbound has remained a relatively minor character in the DC Universe, often appearing as a henchman for more prominent villains.
